From my perspective, January flew by. In the spirit of GO Month, I began the month on a mission – personally and professionally, and while there were many accomplishments, my efforts were a reminder of how getting organized and becoming more productive is a process that’s difficult to circumvent. GO Month x 12 = GO Life!
The NAPO2018 Retreat is rapidly approaching. I am pleased to report that over 70 Virtual Chapter members will be attending the retreat and that our Meet Up has been scheduled (thank you, Alyssa)! Yay! Details will follow.
Reminder – The Virtual Chapter elections will be held during our Monday, February 12, monthly meeting (you'll find more information on the election and the candidates in this newsletter). A few positions are still open. If any of them spark an interest, either Brenda Tringali (firstname.lastname@example.org) or I would love to talk with you.
Still on the fence about volunteering? Check out the Virtual Chapter’s new Volunteer Incentive Program. Beginning with the next board term (May 15, 2018 - May 14, 2019), any board member or committee member who completes their volunteer commitment will receive a free one-year membership to the Virtual Chapter on their next renewal date. So, if you volunteer during the next Board term, you will receive a certificate for a free renewal to be used when your membership is up for renewal in December 2019. The certificate is good for the 2020 membership year.
The Virtual Chapter’s membership year is based on the calendar year, and I am thrilled by how many of you have chosen to continue to be a part of our virtual family. On behalf of all the chapter’s volunteers, we are extremely grateful for your continued support.
Now, on to February with Groundhog Day, Super Bowl LII (and the Puppy Bowl!), the Academy Awards, XXIII Winter Olympics, Daytona 500, Mardi Gras, Presidents’ Day, and Valentine’s Day. It’s the shortest month of the year and the most misspelled of all the months. Traditional holidays and celebrations aside, what else can we expect? Let’s take a look.

We still have a few positions open… the most urgent of which is the SECRETARY! Do you want to connect with other members and support your chapter? Email by THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8, 2018, to nominate yourself or another VC member!
We have a great slate of nominees. Read about them here.
Nominee for President — June Carter with GYST Solutions (Get Your Stuff Together) in Fernandina Beach, FL
The Virtual Chapter is what has connected me to NAPO. I want to continue the momentum of the past presidents and board and keep NAPO VC exciting and growing. NAPO VC is still a relatively new chapter. In the last few years we have consistently developed ways to connect with each other and expand our membership. Having served as NAPO VC's 2017-2018 Director of Professional Development and 2016-2017 Director of Membership, I would consider it an honor to be president of NAPO VC.
Nominee for Vice President — OPEN
Nominee for Secretary — OPEN
Nominee for Treasurer — Brogan Farren with NeatnessCountsKC in Westwood, KS
I am an accomplished executive with a financial background which I use to benefit many of the organizations I’m involved with. Having served as treasurer for organizations since my undergraduate days, I continue to lend my financial knowledge to non-profit organizations. My non-profit background ranges from the Army Aviation Association of America to the Girl Scouts of America, along with many others.
My degrees include a Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University, a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and a Master of Military Art and Science degree from the School of Advanced Military Studies at the U.S. Army Command & General Staff College. I started my business as a professional organizer in 2017, and will retire from the U.S. Army in July 2018 as a Lieutenant Colonel, having been a helicopter pilot; managerial, government, and tax accountant; human resources manager; sales representative; college instructor, senior technical writer, and strategist.
Nominee for Director of Membership — Jane Cole of Happy Home Organizing Solutions, LLC in Orlando, FL
I am currently serving as the Membership Director for NAPO VC and would like to continue serving in this position for the 2018-2019 year. I have learned many of the duties for this position and look forward to helping NAPO VC be the best chapter that it can be.
Nominee for Director of Professional Development — Elva Fonseca with Sensational Organzing in San Dimas, CA
I have over fifteen years' experience supporting managers and executives and two years as a professional organizer. I am an eager, bilingual, and sweet-tempered professional. I learn fast, take initiative, find solutions to implement what’s needed and move forward. I am well versed in computer programs and applications which will help me in further supporting this role and my fellow colleagues. What I love most about this profession is being surrounded by people. I am so thankful for the knowledge that is poured into the webinars and training and wish to be a part of it. I am eager for a new challenge and look forward to growing and serving on the NAPO Virtual Chapter Board.
Nominee for Director of Technology and Communications — OPEN
